Introduction
The Master of Occupational Therapy Studies is designed for students with an approved degree and who have completed courses in human anatomy, statistics, human physiology, and social science (including psychology, sociology, or anthropology).
Integrate your previous studies with the principles of occupational therapy practice. This program will see you develop the interdisciplinary knowledge and professional skills needed to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
Undertake a range of research-focused courses. You will complete advanced training in clinical reasoning and health research, furthering your understanding of the role of evidence in occupational therapy practice.
Be confident and job-ready with more than 1000 hours on fieldwork and supervised placements. Our placements reflect the diversity of occupational therapy practice, and meet the standards set by the World Federation of Occupational Therapy.

The courses offered in the Master of Occupational Therapy Studies are set out in the course list. Each course is allocated a certain number of units (#).
The Program Rules explain what is required to complete the Master of Occupational Therapy Studies. These requirements include the total number of units you need to complete in order to graduate.
To have your degree conferred, you also need to comply with UQ’s policies and rules.
Admission Requirements
Prerequisites
Applicants must hold a bachelor degree and have completed university level studies in statistics, human anatomy, human physiology, and social sciences.

Entry is competitive based on GPA, with a limited intake capacity.
The minimum GPA to be considered for admission into this program is 4.0. The GPA cut-off for those offered a place in 2019 was 4.92.
English Proficiency
IELTS overall 7; reading 7; writing 7; speaking 7; listening 7. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ
TOEFL IBT – Overall 100, listening 25, reading 25, writing 27, speaking 23.
TOEFL PB – Overall 600, listening 59, reading 59, writing 64/6.
Pearsons – Overall 72, sub bands minimum 72.
CES – Overall 185, All sub bands minimum 185.
BEP and OET are not accepted.

Visa requirements
International students who are accepted into full-time study in the Master of Occupational Therapy Studies are eligible to apply for an Australian student visa.
The Australian Government has simplified the visa application process. Now, all international students apply for the Student Visa (subclass 500).
